James F. Humphreys is a graduate of West Virginia University (AB), Ohio State University (MA), Princeton University (MPA) and The George Washington University (J.D.). He has appeared before courts and negotiated mass settlements, or participated in the negotiation of mass settlements, where the total values approached or exceeded $250 million. Humphreys has been named as one of West Virginia’s Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers. In 2011, he was selected to Super Lawyers, a rating service of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
Humphreys has been awarded Philanthropist of the Year by the Thomas Memorial Hospital Foundation and has been listed as a George Washington University Distinguished Alumni. He is a member of the Board of Trustees and the Board of Advisors at George Washington University, and founder of the The Humphreys Center for Complex Litigation. He is a former chairman of the Brain Injury Association of America and previously served on the Board of Directors of the Thomas Memorial Hospital Foundation.
